Hilbrun was a male Human who resided on Tatooine during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Following the Battle of Yavin, he became associated with a band of criminals operating in the impoverished districts of Mos Espa. This group also consisted of Eyleen, Tiomvo, and Guz'Ordnak. In the year 1 ABY, they sold the booster controller for the motivator of an R2 unit to Watto, a junk dealer. As a guarantee, one of the group members left behind his swoop bike, but they ultimately failed to compensate Watto for the booster controller. Because both Imperial Commander Barrezz and Rebel Captain Bastra were seeking this particular R2 unit, a spacer later attempted to get back the motivator booster controller. Hilbrun and his fellow thieves immediately attacked the spacer, but the spacer was successful in recovering the booster controller from Hilbrun's USV-5 Modified Landspeeder.
Hilbrun appeared as a non-player character within the video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided from 2003, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and brought to the public by LucasArts. The game's servers were taken offline on December 15, 2011. Hilbrun's inclusion in the game was part of the "Legacy Quest" content update, which was released alongside "Publish 25," also referred to as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
Based on the game's .tree files and reference guides, the character was originally going to be named Pah.
