Following the events of the Battle of Endor, Grand Moff Valco Pandion of the Imperial forces started to gather a fleet. General Hera Syndulla of the New Republic, while leading the Barma Battle Group, observed that Pandion was still gathering scattered Imperial ships to bolster his own fleet. After Pandion's passing, his forces merged with the Imperial Navy under the command of Admiral Rae Sloane.
