Vharn's father

A male individual from the mining planet of Sorgal 12 was a miner. This man became the father of the human named Vharn by 3 ABY. After the Galactic Empire seized control of Sorgal 12, this miner, along with Vharn's sister, were enslaved. Vharn was not on the planet at that time, and he decided to join the Rebel Alliance as an engineer with the goal of freeing his family.

In 3 ABY, Vharn planned to give the Empire schematics for a deflector shield generator that could withstand an orbital bombardment, betraying the Rebellion in order to ransom his family from Imperial captivity. While a bounty hunter named Beilert Valance was transporting him to the Alliance, the engineer revealed to the hunter that his family was enslaved by the Empire, and he hoped to secure their freedom. Valance discovered Vharn's treachery before they arrived at the Rebellion base, and subsequently killed the engineer. After providing the Alliance with the information he received from Vharn, the hunter requested that half of his payment be used to ransom the engineer's family.
