Viril Shu, a business leader on the planet of Denon, had a daughter in the era of the Galactic War, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the newly established reconstituted Sith Empire. Because Denon was situated on the Corellian Run hyperlane, it was a frequent target of the pirate group called the Corellian Run Scoundrels; a famous story told of how the Scoundrels' captain, Kai Zykken, abducted Shu's daughter, hoping, without success, to convince her to marry him, thus giving him control of Shu's wealth.
In Star Wars: The Old Republic, the 2011 BioWare video game, Viril Shu's name appeared within the Codex entry associated with the Corellian Run Scoundrels, specifically in the 2014 Digital Expansion known as Shadow of Revan.
