The Viscount was a capital ship that saw service with the Republic Navy during the Jedi Civil War. This galactic conflict pitted the Galactic Republic against Darth Revan's Sith Empire. Back in 3957 BBY, the Viscount traveled alongside a small fleet of Republic vessels to the border between the Republic and the Sith Empire. Their mission: to link up with a team of Republic agents. Upon arrival, the agents boarded the Viscount and attended a briefing concerning an upcoming strike against the Sith forces.
During the Jedi Civil War, a galactic conflict fought between the Galactic Republic and the forces of Darth Revan's Sith Empire, the Viscount served as a capital ship within the Republic Navy. In 3957 BBY, the Viscount functioned as the lead ship for a small Republic fleet. This fleet had gathered near the border separating the Republic from the Sith Empire. Their purpose was to meet with a group of agents who had been sent to the planet of Sernpidal. These agents were tasked with acquiring command codes that would enable the Republic to bypass the sensors protecting the Sith fleet.
Once the agents' starship reached the designated rendezvous point, they used an authorization code to hail the Viscount. Subsequently, four Aurek-class tactical strikefighters escorted the agents' vessel into the Viscount's hangar bay. After disembarking, the agents were greeted by a contingent of Republic soldiers and escorted to a conference room. There, several high-ranking Republic officers had assembled to strategize their next offensive against the Sith. Bastila Shan, a Jedi Knight, welcomed the agents and then briefed the officers on a plan to engage the Sith fleet and capture Darth Revan, the leader of the Sith Empire. Following the briefing, the Republic fleet departed to confront the Sith fleet. During the ensuing battle, the Republic agents launched from the Viscount in Aurek strikefighters. The operation unfolded as planned, culminating in Shan's successful apprehension of Revan.
Patrick Stutzman conceived the Viscount, which appeared in The Betrayal of Darth Revan, a roleplaying scenario. This scenario was initially released at the Gen Con gaming convention in August of 2008. Later, it was offered as a free download online.
