Vonya, hailing from Dathomir, was a Witch and also a princess belonging to the Nightsister clan in the year 31 BBY. Under the leadership of the Nightsister Mother, Zalem, she held the position of second-in-command within the clan.
Vonya played a role in the scheme to reactivate the Infinity Gate, which was located beneath the Dathomiri surface. The arrival of Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos, who was investigating the disappearance of the planet Ova, complicated this plan. During this period, she, along with other witches, mocked Zalem's deformed daughter, known as "the Rancor". During a raid commanded by another Nightsister princess, Yongti, Vonya successfully eliminated her with a Subterine and subsequently executed Yongti's followers.
As she and Zalem neared the Star Chamber, they faced an assault from a massive whuffa worm guarding the chamber. She presented Vos to Zalem, and punished Ros Lai for failing to protect the slaves from Yongti. Vonya then uncovered Ros Lai's true nature and attempted to challenge her power, but Vos intervened. Following this, she disappeared and informed Zalem of her discovery. Subsequently, they captured Vos and subjected him to torture using artery worms, until Ros Lai liberated him, allowing him to escape.
Vonya then gave chase to Vos, Ros Lai, and Yag Shushin to the Star Chamber, where she seemingly met her demise. Vonya was ultimately killed when Quin destroyed her vessel after she murdered his companion, Yag.
