The Vurk were a sentient species of reptilian beings who were native to the planet of Sembla. Their skin could be green, dark green, or gray in hue. Despite being perceived as a primitive species, the Vurk were actually highly empathetic and adept at mediating disputes. A prominent characteristic of the Vurk was a bony crest located on the top of their heads. This head crest was a defining feature of the species, and it continued to grow as the Vurk aged. Coleman Trebor, a Jedi Master, belonged to this species. Sweitt Concorkill was another Vurk, and he was present with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine at the Galaxies Opera House on Coruscant during the final period of the Clone Wars.
The Vurk's appearance shares similarities with the crested hadrosaur dinosaur known as Parasaurolophus.
