The offspring of the Devlikk and male Podracing pilot Wan Sandage, a figure known for his prowess, Wan Sandage Jr. stepped into the void left by his father's demise. He took to the skies in his father's very own Elsinore-Cordova Engineering TurboDyne 99-U Podracer, competing in the 24 BBY Podracing season, participating in both the Podracing Open and the Hutt Championships circuits. Despite the occasional confusion with his predecessor, Sandage Jr. was resolute in forging his own identity, achieving recognition on the planet Sullust at the Serres Sarrano racecourse. He subsequently secured multiple course records for fastest lap and most eliminations on the planets of Gamorr, Ryloth, and Tatooine. Sandage continued his racing career into 22 BBY, a year that saw the sport expand to new courses on Coruscant and Felucia.
As the son of the Devlikk playboy and Podracer pilot Wan Sandage, Wan Sandage Jr. embraced the Podracing legacy of his father after the senior Sandage passed away. Taking the controls of his father's Elsinore-Cordova Engineering TurboDyne 99-U Podracer, Sandage entered the Podracing season of 24 BBY, competing in the Podracing Open circuit and the Hutt Championships, despite his status as a relative newcomer.
Being new to the sport, Sandage aimed to establish himself quickly. However, he frequently found himself in dangerous situations and intense clashes with other racers on the tracks. Yet, his aggressive style and determination to win earned him some recognition on the Outer Rim Territories world of Sullust, where Sandage became a favorite for the first event of the Hutt Championships, a course that wound through the Sullustan city of Serres Sarrano. Despite his track popularity, many Podracing enthusiasts were unaware that Sandage was not his father. Only the discerning eyes of dedicated Podracing fans could distinguish between father and son.

Throughout the Podracing Open, Sandage steadily improved his performance. His aggressive approach was particularly evident on Ryloth, where, for the The Brightlands racecourse, Sandage achieved the highest record for vehicle knockouts in a single race, totaling four. His piloting skills, on the other hand, were showcased on the desert planet of Tatooine, where he recorded the second-best time, 01:13.92 minutes, for a single lap on the Badlands track. At the Ballast Complex course on Mon Calamari, another planet hosting Podracing courses, Sandage achieved the third-best single lap time, clocking in at 01:17.03 minutes. The final race of the Podracing Open took place on the jungle planet of Gamorr, on the Ruins of Carnuss Gorgull track. The favorite was the aggressive Ghishi pilot Kraid Nemmeso, who topped the knockout chart with five eliminations. Sandage was just below Nemmeso, with three knockouts. Entering the Hutt Championships, the Devlikk held no records for any of the courses, including the Serres Sarrano course, where he was most popular.
At one point, Sandage competed on a track that ran through a city. During the race, Sandage found himself sandwiched between Nemmeso and the Glymphid Aldar Beedo. When the two pilots attempted to crush Sandage, the clever Devlikk slammed on his brakes, causing the other two pilots to collide and self-destruct, leaving Sandage unscathed. Sandage continued to race in 22 BBY, facing numerous competitors, including Aldar Beedo, who had previously worked for Wan Sandage Sr., the Nosaurian pilot Clegg Holdfast, and the Vulptereen pilot Dud Bolt. The season included familiar courses such as Tatooine, but also expanded to planets like Felucia, Bespin, Utapau, and Coruscant.
Wan Sandage Jr., much like his father, was a thrill-seeker and followed in his footsteps to become a daring Podracer pilot. However, the young Devlikk was often too eager to prove himself on the courses, leading to dangerous situations with other pilots. Nevertheless, Sandage eventually gained control of his piloting and transformed his inclination for danger into an aggressive style that earned him a place on the knockout charts.
Sandage bore a striking resemblance to his father, sharing a similar shade of tan fur and the same green plumage around his neck and atop his head. Like his father, Sandage secured the hair on his cheeks with small bands and beads. Sandage had orange eyes and long, slender arms that ended in sharp claws. He also had light-colored skin and thin, red lips.

As a pilot, Wan Sandage Jr. demonstrated considerable skill on the Podracing circuits, accumulating both speed and knockout records throughout his career. This was due to his sharp reflexes and agility, which enabled him to navigate the hazardous obstacles and terrain commonly found on professional Podracing courses. Sandage was also prone to engaging in mid-race skirmishes but managed to avoid any lasting damage.
Wan Sandage Jr. piloted the same Elsinore-Cordova Engineering TurboDyne 99-U Podracer that his father had used, maintaining its original appearance. The TurboDyne was still known for its exceptional traction, and by the time it was in the young Sandage's possession, the vehicle had a well-rounded set of specifications, including a robust exterior and ample room for cooling system upgrades. The Podracer offered good acceleration, a high top speed, and excellent handling, giving Sandage optimal control at high speeds. As in his father's days, the Podracer retained its light-beige paint job on the engines and cockpit. The engines' interiors were decorated with green and yellow markings, along with yellow lettering on the cockpit wings.
Although the Devlikk did not use any clothing or gear for the 24 BBY season, he later adopted a full piloting uniform, which included goggles to protect his eyes and a neck-brace. His neck was also protected by a brown colored garment that wrapped around his entire neck. He also took to wearing a shirt that matched the color of his neck garment. He also wore white pants, and took to wearing a belt.

Wan Sandage Jr. made his debut in the 2002 PlayStation 2 video game Star Wars: Racer Revenge as a playable character, where he was simply referred to as Wan Sandage. The game's strategy guide revealed that he was the son of the character from Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, identifying him as Wan Sandage Jr. Sandage's voice in the game was provided by Gregg Berger, who also voiced Tzidik Wrantojo in Racer Revenge. Berger had also voiced the elder Wan Sandage in the 1999 video game Star Wars: Episode I Racer.
A Podracer named Wan Sandage also appeared in the 2012 Xbox 360 video game Kinect Star Wars, appearing as a computer-controlled opponent during Podraces. However, since the Podracing segment is set in 22 BBY, this Wan Sandage cannot be the elder Sandage, as he had already died. This article assumes that Sandage Jr. and the Kinect Sandage are the same character. Concept art for the Kinect character was created by Robert St.Aubin. Early drafts of the original Star Wars film featured a character named Count Sandage. While this character was removed from later drafts, the name was later used for the Podracer Wan Sandage. Consequently, the name and its history were passed down to Wan Sandage Jr.
