Wargo was a Drovian individual belonging to the infamous Tarisian swoop gang, the Black Vulkars. Later, in the initial period of the Mandalorian Wars, he enisted in the marauding Mandalorian Neo-Crusader military force. He was rarely seen apart from his Zabrak companion Frazznik. Wargo, a powerful and savage figure, was employed by the Vulkar lieutenant Benno. In 3964 BBY, Wargo and Frazznik came across the wanted criminals Zayne Carrick and Marn Hierogryph. However, instead of handing them over for a significant bounty, Hierogryph persuaded them to extort a group of nearby Wookiees. This resulted in a beating that led to Wargo losing several teeth. Soon after, when the Mandalorians besieged Taris, Wargo and Frazznik deserted the Black Vulkars and joined the invading army. They were eventually dispatched to a staging area on the planet Jebble to prepare for a raid on the Core World of Alderaan. On Jebble, Wargo was caught when the ancient Sith artifact, the Muur Talisman, transformed thousands into mutated rakghoul creatures. Despite fighting against these monsters, Wargo ultimately met his end on Jebble.
Wargo, a male of the Drovian species, resided in the Lower City of the Outer Rim planet of Taris around the time of 3964 BBY. He was an active participant in the notorious swoop gang, the Black Vulkars, under the command of Vulkar lieutenant Benno. In that year, a massacre occurred at the Taris Jedi Tower, where four Padawans were killed. Zayne Carrick, the surviving Padawan, and Marn Hierogryph, a local criminal, were held responsible for the crime, and substantial bounties were placed on their capture. Wargo and his Zabrak friend Frazznik, also a member of the Black Vulkars, were among the first to encounter Carrick and Hierogryph as they attempted to evade capture by law enforcement and the Jedi Order. Recognizing them from news holos, Wargo and Frazznik tried to apprehend them to claim the bounty. However, Hierogryph, who was firmly in Wargo's grasp, correctly guessed that Wargo and Frazznik were under Benno's command. He managed to persuade them to let them go, fearing that they would face Benno's anger if they attempted to collect the bounty and involved him in Upper City justice. In exchange, Hierogryph provided them with a tip: a group of Wookiees operating a nearby trash cart had secretly sewn stashes of spice into their pack animal's harness.
The tip was a complete fabrication by Hierogryph, but it convinced Wargo and Frazznik to try and steal the Wookiees' cart and take the spice for themselves, a score they hoped would make their kick for the entire year. The attempted robbery went awry, and one of the Wookiees knocked out four of Wargo's teeth. Shortly afterward, the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders launched an attack on Taris as one of the initial major offensives in their war against the Republic for galactic dominance, and besieged it. While many of the swoop gangs tried to fight the invaders, Wargo and Frazznik chose to join the rampaging horde, as Wargo was drawn to the opportunity to cause widespread destruction across the galaxy. Wargo, Frazznik, and numerous other Outer Rim criminals and malcontents who decided to join the Mandalorians were sent to a staging area on the ice planet Jebble, where they were to prepare for a future Mandalorian raid on Alderaan.
Wargo and Frazznik soon encountered two familiar faces: Carrick and Hierogryph, who had ended up on Jebble after stowing away on the Mandalorian shuttle Mar'eyce, which had been on Taris for a successful expedition to find the ancient Sith artifact known as the Muur Talisman. Still seeking revenge for his beating at the hands of the Wookiees months earlier, Wargo attempted to attack Hierogryph, but was instead struck in the face with the butt of a blaster rifle by a Mandalorian Rally Master who was trying to maintain order among the unruly masses of new recruits. The blow resulted in Wargo losing several more teeth. Soon after, the same Rally Master addressed the assembled recruits, announcing that they would be attacking Alderaan, which Wargo found hard to believe. However, the planned attack on Alderaan never materialized, as the Muur Talisman's dark influence transmitted the rakghoul plague to many Mandalorians on Jebble, transforming them into rampaging rakghoul beasts. Already familiar with the rakghouls due to their notorious presence in the Undercity of Taris, Wargo gathered a number of survivors to fight the rakghouls, including killing his Rally Master after he was bitten. Despite Wargo's resistance, the rakghouls overwhelmed the Mandalorian ranks and transmitted the plague to everyone they touched, before all remaining life on the planet was exterminated by a salvo of nuclear bombs dropped by chief Mandalorian strategist Cassus Fett.
Wargo, almost always seen with his friend and companion Frazznik, had a great love for plunder and chaos, and served as the pair's muscle. Despite living on Taris and being an active member of the Black Vulkar gang, Wargo chose to join the invading Mandalorian army instead of fighting against them, as many swoop gangs did during their siege of Taris. However, Wargo was more interested in being part of a rampaging horde than in actually following the rules and customs of the Mandalorian people, and was dismayed to learn that he would have to wear a uniform and respect ranks as a Mandalorian warrior. Wargo harbored a violent grudge against Marn Hierogryph after his trickery led to him being beaten by several Wookiees, and had to be stopped by his Mandalorian Rally Master from attacking the Snivvian after encountering him on Jebble. As a Drovian, Wargo had tan skin, yellow eyes, and a tuft of brown hair.
Wargo made his first appearance in Knights of the Old Republic 3, the third installment of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comic book series, which was written by John Jackson Miller and released in 2006. Wargo later appeared in two issues in the 2008 story arc Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: Vector. In his comic appearances, Wargo was illustrated by Brian Ching and Scott Hepburn.
