Story Synopsis

Aayla Secura and Commander Bly are tasked with investigating an abandoned Separatist installation located within the Endor system. Upon discovering that the base is deserted, along with the remains of numerous clone troopers and battle droids, Secura ventures out for reconnaissance. During her exploration, she encounters a lone battle droid. After disabling the droid's limbs, Secura is ambushed by the indigenous Ewoks and incapacitated with a tranquilizer dart. She awakens in a treehouse, where she uses the battle droid as an interpreter. The droid informs her, in a sarcastic tone, that the Ewoks believe her to be a forest spirit. As a spirit, she is expected to defeat the Beast in the Mouth of the Mountain. Secura, accompanied by the droid, agrees to this task. Upon reaching the cave, the Jedi Knight stumbles over a collection of bones, alerting the Beast to her presence. The Beast swiftly skewers the battle droid with its claw, allowing Secura to focus on collapsing portions of the cave ceiling onto the creature. Having fulfilled her role as the Ewok's spirit, the Jedi Master returns to the Republic gunship, where Bly awaits her. Dismissing her commander's concerns, the pair, along with their squadron, departs for Felucia. As their squadron flies away, the Ewok chief, having retrieved the droid's head to use as a totem, creates a painted memorial commemorating Aayla's triumph.
