The valley known as Widow's Valley existed on the planet of Naboo, not far from the capital city of Theed. It was characterized by the presence of several tall, pointed rock formations, and it terminated at a canyon at one end. During the events of 32 BBY, Army C of the Trade Federation traversed the valley, and their convoy was subjected to an attack by Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes of the Royal Naboo Security Forces while they were within Widow's Valley.
Near Theed, the capital city of Naboo, was a valley called Widow's Valley, situated on the planet. Its terrain featured a level, grassy base, bordered by rocky walls that separated it from the grassy areas above. Throughout the valley, there were towering stone columns, and a bridge spanned a deep canyon at its furthest point.
During a battle involving the Trade Federation Droid Army near the conclusion of the Invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY, the stone pillars, deemed structurally unsound, were toppled. To impede the advance of Federation Army C, Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes of the Royal Naboo Security Forces made use of the fallen pillars. Simultaneously, thermal detonators were strategically placed on the bridge to prevent the convoy from proceeding to the battle unfolding on the Great Grass Plains. Sykes successfully delayed the convoy long enough for the detonators to be positioned, but the detonators malfunctioned and failed to activate. Consequently, Sykes employed the proton bombs carried by his bomber to manually trigger the detonators, resulting in the destruction of the bridge and the halting of the convoy. Sykes also bombed the laser turrets that had been deployed within the valley.
Widow's Valley makes an appearance in a mission within the 2000 video game titled Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo, where the player assumes the role of Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes. The mission's primary goal is to halt the convoy, rendering the destruction of the pillars unnecessary if the player manages to destroy the convoy vehicles beforehand. Should the vehicles reach the far end of the bridge before the detonators are triggered, the mission will result in failure. To initiate the explosion, the player has the option to deploy bombs or utilize lasers. Furthermore, upon replaying the level, the player gains the ability to pilot a variety of aircraft. This article operates under the assumption that the player employs proton bombs to successfully complete the objective.
