Wire, a Bothan male and a purveyor of secrets (an information broker), made his home on Talus during the era of the Galactic Civil War. His gender was male.
Following the events of the Battle of Yavin, Wire established himself in the city of Dearic on Talus, becoming a regular at the local cantina. In the year 1 ABY, a smuggler known as Cal Handro sought out the Bothan, desperate for information regarding a threat on his life. Wire's investigation revealed that Trussk, a slavemaster affiliated with the Blackscale Clan, had placed a bounty on the pilot's head, viewing Handro's actions as interference with their slave-trading operations with a rival Trandoshan clan. A few days after their meeting, the smuggler's ship was destroyed above Naboo's moon, Rori, and he vanished. Spacers aligned with both the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire initiated a search for the missing pilot. These spacers eventually crossed paths with Wire in the Dearic Cantina. The Bothan information dealer agreed to provide information about Cal Handro, but only after they completed a task for him. Consequently, the spacers journeyed to the Corellian system and successfully defended a freighter belonging to one of Wire's smuggling contacts from attacks by Black Sun pirates. As payment, the Bothan revealed the location of Trussk's fortress on Naboo to the spacers.
Wire appeared as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This game was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts. The game's servers were closed on December 15, 2011. Wire was introduced to the game as part of the third act of the "Secrets of the Syren" questline, which was added with "Publish 19," on June 29, 2005. The "Secrets of the Syren" storyline was removed from the game with the "Chapter 1," update, released on June 8, 2006, because of major changes planned for Rori with the introduction of the Battle of Restuss.
