The Yakez was a Star Destroyer that belonged to both the New Republic Fourth Battle Group and the New Republic Fifth Fleet.
Originally serving within the Fourth Fleet, the Yakez was subsequently transferred to the newly established New Republic Fifth Fleet due to the significant military danger presented to the New Republic by the Yevethan Duskhan League. Due to its considerable size and powerful weaponry, it functioned as the flagship for Task Force Apex throughout the Black Fleet Crisis, operating under the leadership of Commodore Farley Carson.
During the Battle of N'zoth, the Yakez met its end when two Yevethan thrustships overwhelmed its shields, leading to the explosion of its forward magazine and the ship's subsequent destruction in two pieces.
