The short film "Zen – Grogu and Dust Bunnies" debuted on Disney+ on November 12, 2022. Studio Ghibli produced the film, which includes the dust bunnies known from their movies My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. Disney+ Italy's Twitter account initially revealed the project in a now-deleted Tweet. The official announcement occurred the day before the film's release.
Sometime during or after 41 BBY, Grogu, a Force-sensitive youngling, is using the Force to meditate above a water-filled puddle, as leaves drift past in the breeze. As the young one is meditating, a group of dust bunnies spots him and commences to jump and frolic around him. One dust bunny jumps onto Grogu's head before falling into the puddle, causing Grogu to sneeze and fall into the puddle himself. The child uses the Force to lift himself from the puddle and slowly descend to the ground, where he sees the dust bunnies and starts to retreat. When the dust bunnies start to follow him, a stack of them topples into the puddle.
Grogu continues to move away from the creatures as they trail behind him, and when he sees they are still following, he begins to run. When he looks back to see if they are still chasing him, one of the dust bunnies crashes into his face, causing the youngling to fall. Grogu gets back on his feet and observes the dust bunnies, which begin to dance in front of him before giving him a flower. Grogu accepts the flower, bowing to show his gratitude. He and the dust bunnies then huddle together, while Grogu uses his finger to draw an ensō symbol in the air.
