Zrak system

The Zrak system existed within the Nijune sector, situated within the New Territories area of the Outer Rim Territories.

Behind the scenes

The system of Zrak was first presented to the public in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book written by Daniel Wallace together with Jason Fry; this book specified its location as grid square N-5. The system's name was derived from the Zrak location mentioned in Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, a 1993 book. This book, authored by Bob Carrau, combines creature designs and photos from various projects by Star Wars creator George Lucas with original text. Within the book, Zrak is identified as the origin of a male Heep-heep who became trapped in a crack at some point. Leland Chee, an employee of Lucasfilm who is in charge of the Holocron continuity database, has stated that the details found in Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas are considered non-canonical within the Star Wars Legends continuity.
