The 712-AvA speeder bike, produced by the Aratech Repulsor Company, represented a dependable, ground-hugging speeder bike design. It gained recognition for its robust construction and impressive velocity. The inexperienced bounty hunter named Toro Calican utilized this particular model across the planet of Tatooine's arid desert landscape, in pursuit of a bounty placed on Fennec Shand, working alongside the Mandalorian, Din Djarin.
Upon Djarin's return to Tatooine in search of fellow Mandalorians, Peli Motto provided him with Calican's speeder bike for his journey to Freetown, with Grogu secured in a bag attached to the side. Djarin piloted the bike alongside Cobb Vanth during the recruitment of the Tusken Raiders to assist in eliminating a Leviathan krayt dragon. During the return trip to Mos Espa, a trio of raiders set up a trap by concealing a rope across the gully. When the bike drove past, the raiders raised the rope, causing Djarin to be thrown from the bike. The bike was destroyed because of this, and Djarin, Grogu, and the supplies attached to the bike were sent flying.
The initial appearance of the 712-AvA speeder bike occurred in Chapter 5 of The Mandalorian, the Disney+ television series created by Jon Favreau in 2019, which was broadcast on December 6, 2019. Later, in 2021, the Canon reference book titled Star Wars: The Mandalorian Handbook officially identified the speeder bike.
