Red Flight attacked the tractor beam targeting array of the Tenacious allowing for the escape of all rebel forces. Captain L'Mendi's failure had devastating consequences for the Empire, as Jyn Erso's actions led to the Battle of Scarif which witnessed the theft of the Empire's Death Star plans. The theft allowed for the Rebel Alliance to destroy the Death Star and eliminate high-ranking members of the Imperial Military such as Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin and members of the Joint Chiefs.
