Although similar to the Internal Activities Committee, the Ethics Committee was restricted from giving censures and could not file recommendations for criminal charges. Despite that, censures by the committee usually created enough public pressure to force a criminal investigation and a resignation or call for a Vote of No Confidence. The committee was active during the Clone Wars, which lasted from 22 BBY to 19 BBY.
