Kath hound

Some attempts have been made to breed or genetically engineer improved versions of the species, such as highly aggressive and near uncontrollable salky hounds, but few real improvements have been made. Eventually they became a rare sight on Dantooine, due to many being captured as pets or guard animals.

Captain Cardinal of the First Order believed that in regards to Captain Phasma, General Armitage Hux believed he had a kath hound that could be leashed, but in reality had a rancor waiting for the gate to open.
