Market Street was an area in the Upper City on the Outer Rim planet Taris, extant as of 3964 BBY. It was the location of the Market Street Outdoor Exchange, an outdoor market where industrialists and vendors could solicit investors for products such as fleek eels.
The site of the Market Street Outdoor Exchange, Market Street in 3,964 BBY was the location of a sales pitch by a Snivvian industrialist known as Baron Hieromarn. Hieromarn attempted to solicit investors in a venture to bring fleek eels from the planet Falleen's Hocekureem Sea to Taris for the local restaurant trade, promising a three-for-one return once a tanker was hired and crewed. The next year, Taris was besieged by the Mandalorian warrior clans as part of the Mandalorian Wars with the Galactic Republic. During the battle, Market Street was heavily looted. Almost immediately after the looters left the area, the Mandalorians came in and seized Market Street.
Market Street was first mentioned in The Taris Holofeed: Prime Edition, an in-universe news report that can be found on the last page of the comic Knights of the Old Republic 0, written by John Jackson Miller and released in 2006. Market Street was also mentioned in The Taris Holofeed: Invasion Edition, a similar news report in Knights of the Old Republic 18.
