During the Galactic Civil War, a male Human named Pargo from Kuan transitioned into an Imperial stormtrooper. He spent his formative years amid the civil war with neighboring Bordal, and Pargo became involved with one of the swoop gangs that ran illicit races on his war-ravaged homeworld. Around 3 ABY, after a race, Pargo was apprehended and compelled to reveal the whereabouts of his friend, Maarek Stele, a fellow swoop bike pilot. The Bordali intended to capture Stele to pressure his scientist father, Kerek, into assisting them. The two Kuani racers were then transported aboard a Bordali shuttle. However, as the ship departed Kuan, the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Vengeance intercepted them, having been dispatched to bring the Taroon system under Imperial rule. Initially a prisoner, Pargo was presented with the option to serve the Empire, leading him to enlist in the Stormtrooper Corps. Upon completing his training, he was assigned to the Star Destroyer Glory, the flagship of Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin.
Growing up on the forgotten world of Kuan in the Taroon system within the Outer Rim Territories, the Human male known as Pargo lived during the era of Emperor Palpatine. Since the conclusion of the Clone Wars, Kuan had been embroiled in a civil war with its neighbor, Bordal. This conflict devastated both planets' economies and subjected the populations to martial law. As a young man, Pargo became a pilot of swoop bikes, participating in underground races organized by local swoop gangs amidst the ruined skyscrapers of his homeworld. During this period, he befriended Maarek Stele, another young Kuani swoop racer. Stele's father, the scientist Kerek Stele, had been captured by Bordali agents, forcing Maarek and his mother, Marina, into hiding.
Around 3 ABY, during a swoop competition, Kuani authorities raided the staging area. Pargo and Stele, racing at the time, evaded capture. Later, Pargo went to check on his friend at the small hangar where he kept his swoop bike. Pargo told Stele that strangers had been seen asking questions at the Maze, a local hangout for young racers. Suspecting them to be Bordali spies, he suggested they investigate to see if they knew anything about his father. However, Stele needed to visit his mother first, so Pargo went to the Maze alone, agreeing to meet his friend in three hours.
Unbeknownst to Pargo, the earlier raid and footage of Stele performing a stunt had been broadcast, prompting the Bordali to question local swoop gang members, hoping to capture him and use him as leverage over his father. Upon arriving at the Maze, Pargo was confronted by the Bordali. Despite his resistance, they eventually subdued him and tortured him until he revealed Marina's home address. Using this information, the Bordali captured Marina and Maarek Stele, taking them and the unconscious Pargo to their shuttle before departing for Bordal.

Maarek and Marina Stele were quickly restrained, but a disturbance in the cockpit drew the lead Bordali, Gwadj, away, leaving only one guard to restrain the barely conscious Pargo. As the guard dragged Pargo to a seat, Pargo managed to grab his blaster, pointing it at the guard's chest. Despite his weakness from torture, Pargo overpowered the guard after a brief struggle, and the Bordali surrendered to the now-armed prisoner. After restraining the guard, Pargo freed his friends. As they decided what to do, the ship suddenly lurched, caught in the tractor beam of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Vengeance, which had arrived to conquer the Taroon system for the Galactic Empire. Gwadj and the other Bordali returned, and the commander quickly assessed the situation, instructing his men to lower their weapons. At Marina's urging, Pargo reluctantly did the same.
Imperial stormtroopers soon boarded the shuttle. The occupants were taken aboard the Vengeance, where they were separated and interrogated. The next day, Pargo, along with over 150 other Kuani and Bordali prisoners, including Maarek and Marina Stele, were led to an amphitheater aboard the ship. Admiral Mordon, the Vengeance's commanding officer, addressed them, explaining that the Empire was taking control of the Taroon system to end the civil war and offering them the opportunity to serve the New Order. While many chose to return home and assist with the transition, Pargo decided to join the Imperial Navy. Maarek Stele also joined the Empire, working as a civilian mechanic aboard the Vengeance. Though stationed on the same ship, Pargo's military role limited his interactions with his friend.

Five months later, Pargo learned he had been chosen for training with the Stormtrooper Corps. He informed Stele, who had recently impressed Admiral Mordon and been selected to join the Imperial Navy as a TIE pilot. Pleased for his friend, Pargo cautioned Stele to be careful in his new, dangerous career.
After completing his training, Pargo was assigned as a stormtrooper aboard the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Glory, the flagship of Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin. Stele was also assigned to the Glory, but Pargo's duties prevented him from speaking to the other Kuani, despite hearing tales of his exploits and occasionally seeing him on the ship. However, after Zaarin's forces raided Galactic Electronics' Pondut space station for supplying magnetic pulse warheads to the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Pargo learned that Stele's father was among the prisoners brought aboard the Glory. Risking the consequences of disobedience, Pargo, still in his anonymous stormtrooper armor, fetched Stele from his quarters and led him to a small, unused room temporarily housing the prisoners. Only after returning with Kerek did Pargo remove his helmet and reveal his identity. He allowed them a brief reunion before returning Kerek to his cell, hoping his absence had gone unnoticed. Before leaving, he promised to try to stay in contact but cautioned Stele against initiating any meetings.
Pargo was a powerfully built man, taller and heavier than Stele, possessing the strength to easily overpower most other Humans. When captured by the Bordali, Pargo fought fiercely, making it difficult for them to restrain him. Only after sustaining severe injuries did he lose the will to fight and reveal Stele's location. Despite this, he ultimately overpowered one of his captors and freed his friends. He later used his strength as an Imperial stormtrooper.
Pargo maintained a close friendship with Maarek Stele. As swoop racers, they frequently mocked each other, and Pargo often greeted his friend with a rude gesture through the peephole when visiting his hangar. While happy that Stele joined him in a career in the Imperial Military, he worried about his friend's safety. He later risked his career by arranging for Stele to see his father after Kerek was arrested for aiding the Rebel Alliance.
Pargo's early life as an illegal swoop racer contrasted sharply with his later career in the Empire. However, he was drawn to the Empire's power and decided to join. Although proud to join the Imperial Navy and eager to train as a stormtrooper, he became disillusioned when his career forced him to cut off contact with his friends and missed racing swoops on Kuan.
Rusel DeMaria created Pargo, who first appeared in The Stele Chronicles, a novella accompanying the 1994 LucasArts video game Star Wars: TIE Fighter.
