Prot Xan was an Amani male member of the Galactic Agricultural Alliance during the High Republic Era. The Amani was one of 106 scientists who attended an annual meeting of the Agricultural Alliance on the Starlight Beacon space station. On the first day of the meeting, the scientist got into a brawl with Yomo Vrex, an Ithorian colleague who was an old friend of Xan's. Vrex lunged at the Amani, who responded with a flip of the tail to strike the other scientist. As a crowd began to gather to watch the fight, the station's head of security, Chief Ghal Tarpfen, and Administrator Velko Jahen rushed to intervene, with Tarpfen stunning both combatants. Though the act outraged the Alliance's president, Sh'nar Qwasba, the two scientists were to be transported to the station's medcenter.
