Rorak 4 was an industrial world that was located within the Rorak system of the galaxy's Hutt Space region and lay on the hyperlane called the Shag Pabol, which connected it to the planets of Nal Hutta and Diyu. Another hyperspace route called the Gamor Run linked Rorak 4 to the world of Circumtore. Rorak 4 was orbited by the Rorak 5 space station and was the site of the largest slave market in the Hutt Space.
The Rorak system was located within the territory controlled by the Hutt species at least as early as the year 11,000 BBY. and the area of space surrounding the planet was considered well-explored by 8000 BBY. The local population average of the region of space containing Rorak 4 around the year 25 ABY ranged from 10 million to 500 million. At some point between 26 ABY and 27 ABY the Rorak system was attacked by the military forces of the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong species during their conquest of the galaxy, and the star system was held under the control of those invaders until at least 27 ABY.
Rorak 4 was first mentioned in The Essential Atlas—a reference book co-authored by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace, and published on August 18, 2009—which placed the planet in grid square S-12.
