Shmorg was a male Gran who made his living as a bounty hunter. He resided on the moon of Sulon, specifically in the city known as Barons Hed, and his story unfolds in the year 5 ABY. One time, he and four other Gran were at a local tavern, ordering some drinks. Shmorg volunteered to cover the cost, but another Gran insisted on buying them instead, which Shmorg didn't like. This disagreement sparked an argument among all the Gran about who would pay, leading to an unarmed brawl. The fighting was stopped by the Jedi novice Kyle Katarn, who ended up killing all of the Gran when they decided to attack him.
In 5 ABY, the male Gran named Shmorg worked as a bounty hunter employed by the Galactic Empire. His assignment, shared with many other bounty hunters, was to patrol the city streets of Barons Hed, situated on the moon Sulon (which orbited the planet Sullust), watching for anyone trying to get into Government House, a large building in the city's center. One day, Shmorg and four Gran bounty hunter colleagues went to a nearby tavern and ordered drinks from the Human bartender. After they finished, Shmorg offered to pay, but another Gran wanted to pay as well. An argument broke out about who would pay the bill, which escalated into an unarmed brawl where they started fighting each other to the death. The bartender desperately told the Gran not to use blasters, even though only one Gran actually had a belt with thermal detonators. As the fight was beginning, Kyle Katarn, a Jedi trainee and agent of the New Republic, entered the tavern while trying to locate a way into Government House. By this time, two Gran were already dead, and the remaining Gran turned to attack Katarn with their fists. But they were unsuccessful, and the Jedi novice killed the remaining bounty hunters. Katarn then took the thermal detonators from the one Gran and the personal energy shields from the bar before leaving, while the bartender complained about Katarn killing his paying customers.
Shmorg made his appearance in the video game Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II from 1997 as a generic enemy in the fifth level. The name Shmorg was given to him in the game's strategy guide, though it's unclear which Gran in the bar he is. Rick Barba, the author, suggested that the Gran were fighting over the bill. He suggested that the player should wait until at least two Gran were dead, then kill the rest and take the bar's supplies. But, since this encounter isn't necessary to finish the game, it can be skipped.
