The Torada Collective was a Naboo artists' group which existed by the beginning of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY. Members of the collective did not fit in particularly well with their peers in Naboo's art community, for reasons ranging from wanting more wealth and recognition than they could get on the planet to having political ideals not represented in Naboo's legislature, and some merely wanted to rebel against their families. It was not unusual for Torada Collective members to travel offworld, although the group had a few compounds on-planet for its members to live and work in peace. After the outbreak of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, five members of the Collective were trapped behind Separatist lines, and their parents petitioned Queen Jamillia for assistance in bringing them home. Not wanting to be seen as favouring any one group in particular since there were Naboo all across the galaxy, Jamillia asked Senator Padmé Amidala to rescue them with her Jedi escort, Anakin Skywalker. Amidala agreed to the mission even though she and Skywalker planned to marry later that same day. When Skywalker and Amidala arrived at Nooroyo to retrieve the Torada Collective members, only one of them, Antraya, the sister of Jamillia, returned to Naboo.
