A male representative of the Houk species, known for their strength, served as a protector for a Human messenger whose task was to deliver a satchel filled with credits to the Clawdite named Prit Kessek. The member was to escort the courier on a journey that began on the planet Junction, where the credits were obtained, and would continue to the space station Bazarre by way of Corellia and Kalarba. This Houk could both read and write in the Houkese language, and while performing his duties, he carried both a Heavy blaster pistol as well as a Vibroknife for protection.
The Houk successfully escorted the Human all the way to the Grand Terminal spaceport located on Junction, but there, they were suddenly attacked by a group of hired spacers. These spacers had a plan to capture the courier and then impersonate him, all so they could get close to Prit, and subsequently, Atlee Thanda, who was a Zygerrian slaver for whom the credits were ultimately intended.
The Houk's initial appearance was in the Zygerrian Takedown adventure for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, which was published online by Wizards of the Coast. Jason Fry designed this adventure in 2003. The adventure offers multiple potential scenarios for the ambush and does not mandate the Houk's survival or death for the adventure to proceed.
