Biography

A male Human was an employee of a Hutt-controlled company on the planet Junction. In his role with the company, he functioned as a courier for the wealthy shipping magnate Brevis Taug, a short time after Taug's clandestine arrest. The man received instructions to deliver a container filled with credits to a different courier, a Clawdite by the name of Prit Kessek, on the space station Bazarre. Kessek's subsequent task was to deliver the credits to the Thanda clan of Zygerrian slavers, to provide funds for the maintenance of a slaveship fleet in which Taug had invested. These payments were structured as regular installments, with a different courier ("bagman") used for each transaction. The courier planned on traveling with a Houk bodyguard from the Grand Terminal spaceport on Junction to the planets Corellia and then Kalarba before reaching his destination, Bazarre.

However, the Human courier was a target of a setup. Taug had revealed that the credits were to be delivered to his captors, who were Intelligence agents aiming to dismantle the slaver clan. Their plan involved replacing the courier with their own operatives, a group of spacers they had recruited. To this end, the spacers established a stakeout at the Grand Terminal, while intelligence agents monitored the courier and his bodyguards' progress on Junction. Upon the pair's arrival at the spaceport, a fabricated announcement alerted the spacers to the courier's presence. They captured him and handed him over to the intelligence agents. Under interrogation, the man quickly divulged his travel itinerary, the access codes for the container, and his instructions to the agents, who then shared this information with the spacers.

Equipment

The courier carried a concealed hold-out blaster during his delivery duties, in addition to an encrypted datapad and the satchel of credits.

Behind the scenes

The courier initially appeared in the Star Wars Roleplaying Game adventure titled Zygerrian Takedown, an online supplement released by Wizards of the Coast and designed by Jason Fry. The adventure presents various methods for players to attempt to subdue the courier, with the possibility of failure. However, this article assumes that the players were successfully alerted to his presence and successfully captured him without killing him, the aim of the encounter.
