Thanks for adding an infobox to Compton. However, infoboxes must include all parameters (see the fix), even if you don't add anything in them. Doing otherwise will tag the page with a maintenance category. Also note that infoboxes are to be referenced like any other part of an article, with <ref></ref>. --NanoLuuke 19:25, August 25, 2020 (UTC)
Hi Dat. The page has now been deleted. Ayrehead02 (talk) 13:41, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you very much Dat1899 () 14:02, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
Please specify the source from which you acquired . Simply typing "Lucasfilm" doesn't help anyone. UberSoldat93 (talk) 10:48, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- Well, the image was provided by Leland Chee during his interview with Steve Haruch, and the image was originally from the LucasFilm archives.Dat1899 () 10:50, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
You have not provided backup links, which is required per Sourcing policy, for the Aveleyman links on Timothy Sinclair and Eiji Kusuhara. UberSoldat93 (talk) 20:10, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- Ok, i'm very sorry, i'll get to it. Really sorry if i come off as annoying, i have no malicious intentions.Dat1899 () 20:13, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
Hi Dat1899, the image is now deleted. In future please remember to sign your comments with four tildes (~) Ayrehead02 (talk) 20:34, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
Per Policy every single external link needs to have a backup link. For that reason please use the {{Twitter}}, {{FacebookCite}} and {{WebCite}} templates. Please, go back to your edits in the Keyan Farlander article and format them correctly. Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 08:27, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
- You still need to use the appropiate templates, please modify your edits. Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 09:51, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
Can I ask why you are substituting film images on canon articles with ones of your own? The previous images all came from the film itself, but yours appear to be lower quality. UberSoldat93 (talk) 11:02, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
- Well, i saw JMM putting up new images for Canon characters like Dorovio Bold, Palso Thern etc. And i decided to do the same thing. I don't know why my images came out the way they did, likely because of the snipping tool i used
Can you provide the page where you got from? You have only listed the homepage as the source, which doesn't have the image in it. UberSoldat93 (talk) 06:13, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- Very well, if i have to. I must say, although i leave archive links whenever i upload an image, it seems dozens of hundreds of images don't have an archive link and a reliable source, yet are still used in articles.Dat1899 () 09:01, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
Please do not remove content from Wookieepedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:24, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
Hi Dat1899. Per admin discussion, your block length has been adjusted from permanant to 3 months. If you have issues in the future, please feel free to approach us for help, instead of blanking pages. Cheers, Supreme Emperor 18:01, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hey, the source for Yong crashing into the Chimaera comes from a Star Wars Insider magazine, which I own. I'll add the source when I pull it out of storage in the morning (it's past midnight here right now). - Noash Retrac (talk) 14:28, 31 August 2021 (UTC)
When uploading files, please make sure to
- Properly categorize your uploads. Right now all your uploads end up in various maintenance categories.
- Use lowercase file extensions, i.e. .png instead of .PNG, as per Wookieepedia:Images#Filenames.
Hey, would you mind uploading this image to the Wook as well? It will be useful to have as e-mail evidence. Stake black 23:40, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
- In good time--Dat1899 () 19:36, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
Please provide the actual link to the Facebook post rather than "Dat1899's facebook" here. UberSoldat93 (talk) 14:10, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I can't do that, since the image is from a Facebook group. And the owner strictly told me not to share links.--Dat1899 () 14:11, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- Just to reiterate Shay's message here, the uploaded image is currently in violation of our Image policy, and will be deleted unless an adequate source can be provided. This means either a live link or a backup link to the group, or of the individual who posted the image. I recommend looking at {{FacebookCite}} to help with this. If the owner doesn't want this link shared, then you'll need to ask the original poster where they got the image from, or try a google image search to find an alternative source. Thanks. 07:24, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
Hi, your assumption is correct in the context of Battlefront. However, the vehicle also appears in Galactic Battlegrounds. That speeder can be built during the Battle in the Silken Asteroids mission that takes place during the early days of the Galactic Civil War. Best, Hk 47 (talk) 09:32, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
Hi Dat! When sourcing an image (like this one), please use an archive of the web page where it's from, preferably in a citation template. A simple archive of the image itself wont do because it doesn't really inform about the source itself. Thanks. NanoLuuke 10:39, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, sorry, but right now there is not much I can do. The original page where the image originates from has been taken down, and I don't think there are any archives, so this is the best we have i think.--Dat1899 () 15:35, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
Hi Dat. Hanzo's volunteered to continue the nomination so I'll leave it up. Hope you're doing ok! Ayrehead02 (talk) 18:21, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
Please be careful with the sources you are using for acting credits, as fansites like Moviedude have questionable accuracy. Said site for example is run by a single user, and thus, the claims they make will be biased. On the Discord server, we are currently discussing how to handle this situation, as crowdsourced sites like this will always be questionable. As I pointed out to you before, literally anyone can come out and make such a claim on a random site, so we cannot just throw in an "according to this fansite" and be done with it, since there will be no limit to what can be cited. Hope this makes sense. UberSoldat93 (talk) 12:52, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
As for Stenson Falke and David Eynon, I have been searching for official confirmation on these actors for a very long time. Pretty much everything points to them being in ANH, especially looks and other images from other television shows and films from around the time. the only thing missing is what I used to call "official confirmation". However, I made an exception here since, I believe, the images are in this case enough to confirm their presence. Remember that I do intensive research on all of these actors.
It seems the main issue with the Wookieepedia and official confirmation thing is the general oblast that OOU stuff is placed in. Nobody took as big of an interest in actors here as I did, but I'm not trying to brag, I'm just saying that, knowing all of these actors, and the various methods of confirmation, etc. etc. I think I can determine what can be used as a source and what cannot be used as a soruce. I do not take these things for granted. I know MovieDude well, and although he runs the website, he communicates with several other film enthusiasts, who provide him with sources and images, and I know who these people are, and I am/was contact with some of them, and they know a lot better than I do when it comes to actor confirmation etc.
It seems the Wook isn't willing to go that far, and prefers to keep to its own rules. It seems the biggest confirmation Wookieepedia can provide is an official statement from a Star Wars official, like Leland Chee for example, or any Star wars video or website, as long as its officially tied to people who are in some way linked to official Star wars content. Now, In my opinion, that is biased. I have seen several cases where Wookieepedia uses sources form Star wars Promotional videos on OOU actor articles, e.g. Andy Bradford, Yohan Beer. In my opinion, I'd say these credit's are directly taken from Imdb, which is, more often than not, a very bad source. However, since its an official Star Wars video, from an official channel, it seems as if it can be taken for granted. No double-checking, no research, as long as its Star Wars, we can roll. But that's not right. Thus, Wookieepedia is hesitant to use sources from any place that isn't in some way tied to Star Wars, but don't quote me on that, I could be wrong. I see a lot of people praising the late J.W.Rinzler for his fantastic work on the making of books. Don't get me wrong, he did a very good job, but the books aren't perfect either, e.g. credited as Daine Jir. Again, perhaps Rinzler didn't know it was in fact Al Lampert and went with the info he had, but again, it seems people are willing to go easy on these books because they are written by somebody who is tied to Star Wars.
I will admit this, Aveleyman and Moviedude do have some issues, issues that I'm well aware of, and stay clear of using as sources. But at times, they can be more accurate than official OOU Star wars media that discusses behind the scene information. Overall, the things I use as sources, I do intense research on, and I'd say I have enough knowledge about these things, these actors, these people, to know what's true, and what's dodgy and should not be taken for granted.
That's all I want to say.---Dat1899 () 09:28, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
- First of all, sources like Leland Chee come directly from Lucasfilm and have access to internal materials that have not been made public, therefore is strong credibility to any statement they put out. If we start casting doubt there too, that throws everything else on this wiki into doubt as well. We have to draw a line somewhere in the end. UberSoldat93 (talk) 12:43, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
