Yataga sector

The Yataga sector was a part of the Expansion Region. It contained the planet Adner, which was the homeworld of the sentient Adnerem species. Discovered 5,000 years before the Galactic Civil War, Adner was eventually transformed into an entertainment and pleasure world, and the Adnerem Etsero owned the largest casino on the planet, The Red Lisken. By 4 ABY, Etsero found that his debt to the late Hutt crime lord Jabba had been transferred to an unnamed party allied with the fragmented Galactic Empire, and The Red Lisken was subsequently used to launder credits for Imperial interests in the Yataga sector.

Description

The Yataga sector was located in the Trailing Sectors portion of the Expansion Region. By 0 ABY, the Yataga sector bordered the Hythrope and Jurzan sectors Coreward, the Kira sector spinward, and the Woostri sector in the trailing direction. Together with the Kira and Woostri sectors, the Yataga sector formed the Expansion Region's Rimward border, neighboring the Var Hagen sector of the Mid Rim. The Yataga sector was home to the Adner system.

History

After the 4 ABY death of the crime lord Jabba the Hutt, Etsero, the Adnerem owner of the largest casino on the Yataga sector planet Adner, discovered that his debt to the Hutt had been transferred to an unnamed party allied with the fragmented Galactic Empire. At the time, Etsero's casino, The Red Lisken, was used to launder credits for Imperial interests in the Yataga sector.

In order to put an end to the crimes being carried out in The Red Lisken, in 7 ABY the New Republic dispatched an agent to Adner; however, the agent never reported in with his superiors and was suspected to have been dealt with by Etsero. New Republic General Airen Cracken subsequently mentioned the Imperial-allied criminal operations in the Yataga sector in Wanted by Cracken, a datafile that served as a compilation of reports on various threats to the New Republic.

Locations

The Adner system of the Yataga sector contained the terrestrial planet Adner. It was the homeworld of the sentient, humanoid Adnerem species. Adner was discovered by a Duros scout 5,000 years before the Galactic Civil War. Three thousand years later, the Adnerem transformed their homeworld into a famous entertainment and pleasure world.

Behind the scenes

The sector containing Adner was first indirectly mentioned in the 1993 sourcebook Wanted by Cracken, which was written by Louis J. Prosperi for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The sector was later identified as the Yataga sector in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. In 2012, the sector was depicted on a map designed by Modi and published in the Online Companion feature "Essential Atlas Extra: Expansion Region."
