"A Jedi Tale", a short story penned by Calliope Glass and brought to life with illustrations from Katie Cook, made its debut in the young reader's anthology, Star Wars Galactic Storybook, which launched on January 6, 2021. This story presents an adaptation of Anakin Skywalker's journey as depicted throughout the prequel trilogy.
Following their engagement against the Trade Federation Droid Army during the Invasion of Naboo, the Jedi duo of Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi venture to Tatooine. There, they encounter Anakin Skywalker, who consents to assist them in winning the Boonta Eve podrace to facilitate repairs to their vessel. Subsequently, the Jedi seek counsel from the Jedi High Council, who decline to provide training to the young boy. Returning to Naboo, they engage in combat during the invasion, confronting Darth Maul. Jinn falls in battle, yet Kenobi triumphs over the Sith Lord. Skywalker actively participates in the conflict, successfully destroying the Trade Federation starship.
Skywalker matures into a Jedi, becoming entangled in the schemes of Darth Sidious. He and his comrades find themselves ensnared within the Petranaki Arena, facing formidable creatures. Skywalker's strength continues to evolve, leading to his victory over Count Dooku. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, secretly Darth Sidious, exerts a corrupting influence over Skywalker. Kenobi attempts to intervene, but Skywalker attacks him. The Jedi known as Skywalker is lost in this battle. Amidala is devastated, but she does give birth to twins. Skywalker is reborn as Vader, and the twins are scattered.
