Boonta Eve was a yearly festival and vacation observed by the Hutt species on the desert world of Tatooine. This celebration occurred every year during the final decades of the Old Republic era, and continued through the New Republic period. The holiday paid tribute to Boonta Hestilic Shad'ruu's ascension to godhood. Fireworks marked the occasion in Mos Eisley. To remember the holiday, the Boonta Eve Classic race took place each year just outside of Mos Espa.
