The Ace of Sabres, a luxurious resort, graced the planet of Kluistar within the Colonies. This opulent establishment was situated amidst a thick forest, residing on a continent also under the ownership of the Ace Entertainment Corporation.

Renowned as both a gambler's haven and an architectural marvel of contemporary entertainment, the Ace of Sabres featured a hotel rising ninety-nine stories, offering one thousand and one distinct diversions that, according to the holo-brochure, would require a full month for the average guest to fully explore. The resort encompassed seven uniquely themed restaurants, countless recreational facilities, a trio of nightclubs, a pair of dance venues, and a dozen individual casinos and gambling parlors. Furthermore, there was an exclusive thirteenth casino—the galaxy-famous Sabre Club—that catered exclusively to high-profile individuals, including royalty and Imperial dignitaries.
Accommodation costs ranged from a budget-friendly twenty credits per night for a standard room to a lavish one hundred credits for a penthouse suite. A top-tier meal could cost a diner thirty credits, while beverages spanned from standard drafts to imported and premium vintage selections. Complimentary stays were extended to influential Imperials, royals, and corporate executives, under the implicit understanding that these indebted VIPs would reciprocate with favors for the Ace Entertainment Corporation.
The gambling halls showcased a diverse assortment of card games, such as Liar's Cut, Double-Down, and Death Star Bluff, with an entire section dedicated to sabacc tables. Cutting-edge gaming machines provided games of chance, including StarSlot Machines, Blinkodes, Warp-top, Spatz, the Jubilee Wheel, and the Orbiter. Games such as Holo-Wing, Shockball 3, and Rancor Hunter allowed players to compete against live or simulated opponents. The standard gambling tables were equipped with adjustable dampener fields to minimize background noise, and personalized, voice-activated lighting could be adjusted to suit individual preferences. Miniature air purifiers could eliminate smoke in nanoseconds. Despite these advancements, some casinos opted for a more traditional atmosphere.
The Ace forbade boredom, offering complimentary vacation planning alongside opportunities to camp in the surrounding woodland with rented gear. However, some attractive campers faced the risk of being sold into slavery to the notorious Aubro Ahntanda through the black market operations of the Ace's shadowy owners. The gambling halls contained credits, jewels, data disks with military or scientific information, and even holodeeds to droids, starships, corporations, and planets. Jhyarra was a popular entertainer at the Ace of Sabres.
During the Imperial Period, Gandin T'Noull managed the Ace. However, Sibarra the Hutt secretly managed the Ace Entertainment Corporation, installing holocameras and audio eavesdroppers to steal information from wealthy clients from his control room in the resort's underground levels. Dunan Par'Ell and Universal Guardians, Inc. provided security. Droids, datapads, and weapons were prohibited in the casinos, as were personal cards or dice. The entrance had contraband detectors, and violators were removed without a refund. Rumors suggested that certain individuals were quietly eliminated, perhaps by getting lost in the woods. Robbery, assassinations, and thievery were carried out by the Ace's staff upon careless clients. The ex–bounty hunter Cha-Val Sha-Vak assisted Sibarra, taking assignments that Par'Ell could not.
Millions visited the Ace of Sabres annually. The Corellian scoundrel Cohden K'Reye rated the resort "three supernovas" in his guide to the cantinas of the galaxy. Tovric tried to assassinate Ambassador Kollrin after a game of Liar's Cut, but Par'Ell apprehended him before he could harm the Sullustan dignitary. Herglic information broker Johzan B'oh was frequently found there. Other regulars included Karrison Lee, Solimon Dambrizi, Lady Eriann Strathmore, Moff Ariss Lyjan, and Udo Broxin.
The Ace of Sabres derived its name from a sabacc card.
