Adan Dooku, a male Human, held the title of count within House Dooku. Upon the passing of his father, Adan was deemed too young to assume the role of Count, leading to his mother becoming the regent for House Dooku. This arrangement was short-lived, as Adan's uncle, the former Jedi Master Dooku, seized the title, compelling Adan and his mother to seek exile on the planet Alderaan. He resided there for numerous years, developing a close friendship with Bail Organa, and only returned to Serenno to claim his rightful title after his uncle was killed during the Clone Wars. Later, Adan fathered a son named Bron before being widowed by the death of his wife Maite. However, Dooku's ascension to Count of Serenno clashed with the interests of rival families, notably House Borgin. Adan was eventually assassinated on Alderaan by Imperial Intelligence operative Jahan Cross under orders from the Galactic Empire, acting in the interest of Rodas Borgin.
Born into the esteemed House Dooku, a family of significant power and influence on Serenno, Adan Dooku was destined to succeed his father as the next Count. However, his youth at the time of his father's death prevented him from immediately inheriting the title. Consequently, Dooku's mother chose to act as regent in the absence of a suitable male Count. This situation changed with the return of her brother-in-law, a disgraced Jedi Master now known as the Sith apprentice Darth Tyranus, to Serenno. Dooku's ambition to claim the title for himself resulted in Adan and his mother being exiled to Alderaan, where they found refuge with the House of Organa.
With Serenno now aligned with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Dooku remained on Alderaan throughout the Clone Wars until 19 BBY, forming a bond with Viceroy Bail Organa. Following his uncle's death at the hands of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars' final stages, Dooku returned to Serenno to assert his claim to the vacant title of Count, a move that displeased the other Serenno houses, who questioned the value of a Count raised on another planet.

Not long after the Clone Wars concluded and Dooku was back on his homeworld, Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith and servant of the new Emperor, arrived with a contingent of stormtroopers. Vader had previously discussed the Galactic Empire's intentions with Serenno, but withheld his true plans from the young Count. Vader announced that, given the other great houses' allegiance to the late Dooku, they were required to purge the traitors among them by executing the current heads of each house. Dooku protested vehemently but was powerless as Vader revealed the final condition of the arrangement: the sons were to kill their own fathers to prove their loyalty and ascend to power, with refusal resulting in the deaths of all involved. Rodas Borgin initiated the act, betraying his own father. Dooku watched in horror as the other sons followed suit, massacring the assembled nobles. Subsequently, they were forced to kneel in their parents' blood, pledging allegiance to Lord Vader and the Empire.
In due course, Dooku had an heir, Bron Dooku, with his wife, Maite.
Ultimately, Dooku was targeted for assassination by an individual within the Imperial hierarchy, in collaboration with Borgin of House Borgin. The task was assigned to Imperial agent Jahan Cross. Around 3 BBY, Dooku attended the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Alderaan Ascendancy Contention in Aldera. Cross, an Alderaanian native, capitalized on this opportunity, attending the celebration under the pretense of reconnecting with Viceroy Bail Organa, a close friend of Dooku's. During the event, Organa found a moment to speak with Dooku privately, attempting to convince the Count to join the growing insurrection against the Galactic Empire. Organa believed the Count possessed considerable influence, despite the Count's own doubts stemming from his upbringing on Alderaan and the conflicts his origins had caused with the other Houses of Serenno.

Meanwhile, Cross, disguised in a fabricated suit of Mandalorian armor created by Imperial Intelligence to impersonate Boba Fett, positioned himself on a nearby rooftop with a sniper rifle, aiming at the Count through a window. Candra Tymon, the head of Dooku's personal security team, who had been instructed to wait outside while Organa made his plea for rebellion, spotted the laser sight on the rifle and attempted to warn Dooku, but was too late. The shot struck Dooku directly in the heart, narrowly missing Tymon's right shoulder and piercing the window. Dooku's young son, Bron, witnessed the murder, having been awakened by the argument between his father and Organa. Tymon pursued Dooku's assailant across the rooftops, calling for emergency medics as she exchanged fire with the fake Mandalorian. Cross escaped, disposing of the Mandalorian armor in a nearby pond where it dissolved, effectively erasing any trace of the perpetrator.
Count Dooku underestimated his own influence; however, his allies in the Galactic Senate, including Bail Organa, recognized his potential as a powerful and influential ally. During his time as Count, Dooku maintained a neutral stance toward Imperial rule, consistently rejecting his peers' calls for rebellion against Galactic Emperor Palpatine's growing power, even being perceived as a coward by Bail Organa.
Adan Dooku's first appearance was in the second story arc of Agent of the Empire, Hard Targets, in 2012. The series, featuring the sophisticated Imperial agent Jahan Cross, draws inspiration from the James Bond franchise, incorporating many of the tropes found throughout its twenty-three films.
