The Alsakan Mosaics represented a mosaic of immense size, comparable to a mountain, which once graced the surface of the planet Alsakan. The artwork's central element was obliterated during the 14,450 BBY events of the Cleansing of Rucapar. Despite this damage, the historian Vicendi later recognized the Alsakan Mosaics by including it in the Twenty Wonders of the Galaxy list in 10,000 BBY.
Once situated on the Core Worlds planet Alsakan, the Alsakan Mosaics were a remarkable artistic creation. The mosaic, crafted from radiant tiles, had a centerpiece that was situated in the main square of the ancient city of Rucapar. Extending from this central point were five tile-covered paths that reached the peaks of five mountains positioned at equal distances from each other.

The core of the Alsakan Mosaics suffered destruction during the 14,450 BBY incident known as the Cleansing of Rucapar. This event was part of the Third Alsakan Conflict, the third installment in a series of wars spanning fourteen millennia. These conflicts centered on the political dominance of the Galactic Republic and involved Alsakan, Coruscant (the Republic's capital), and their respective allies.
Although only remnants of the artwork persisted after the centerpiece's demise, its legacy lived on through its inclusion in the Twenty Wonders of the Galaxy. This list, compiled by the historian Vicendi in 10,000 BBY for the Arturum Galactinum publication, showcased remarkable ancient artifacts. Sometime between 1 ABY and 3 ABY, a replica of a section of the Alsakan Mosaics was featured as a floor exhibit at "Wonders of the Galaxy," an exhibition hosted by the Figg & Associates Art Museum in Cloud City on the Outer Rim Territories planet Bespin.
The Alsakan Mosaics were first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. Wallace mentioned on his blog that he particularly enjoyed creating names for those of the Twenty Wonders of the Galaxy that were original to the book, which included the mosaic. A replica of the Alsakan Mosaics made its debut in The Jewel of Yavin, a 2014 adventure supplement for Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: Edge of the Empire roleplaying game system.
