Altyr 5 Light Freighter Race

The Altyr 5 Light Freighter Race constituted a competition involving light freighters as starships. Notwithstanding its title, the race was conducted in space. From a period falling between 10 BBY and 9 BBY, racers backed by the Imperial faction progressively secured victories, a trend that persisted until a time between 5 BBY and 4 BBY, at which point the Spectres emerged victorious. The Imperial Patrol held a strong dislike for racers not endorsed by the Empire to be in a winning position, and would go to any length to prevent them from winning.
