Anwis Eddicus held the position of Supreme Chancellor within the Galactic Republic around the year 700 BBY. During this time, the Death Seed plague emerged, devastating the galaxy and killing millions of individuals. The pandemic concluded when the parasitic drochs that caused the plague were isolated on the planet Nam Chorios, with Eddicus contributing to the resolution.
In the Republic's final years, Eddicus received occasional recognition. The Eddicus-class planetary shuttle from Kuat Systems Engineering, which was developed in the decades leading up to the Clone Wars, was named in honor of the esteemed Chancellor. In 22 BBY, Biscuit Baron, a restaurant chain owned by the Tagge Company, initiated a month-long promotional event called "Heroes of the Republic" to showcase notable figures from the Republic's history; holocubes representing these individuals were included with purchases of Biscuit Baron's QuickSnack and QuickSnackLite foods. Eddicus was among those celebrated in this campaign, which was advertised in an edition of HoloNet News CoCo District Edition by the company's CEO Roridan Temquill.
The first mention of Anwis Eddicus appeared in "Biscuit Baron to Celebrate "Heroes of the Republic," an article penned by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens which was featured in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #49 on the HoloNet News website on March 28, 2002. Later, Eddicus's narrative was further developed in James McFadden's winning submission for What's The Story?—a feature for members of the Star Wars Hyperspace fan club to submit backstory entries—for its inclusion within the Databank on StarWars.com.
