Arasuum

Arasuum was a divinity within the ancient Mandalorian faith. Referred to as the god of sloth, the Mandalorians perceived Arasuum as the embodiment of inaction, tempting ancient clans towards unproductive indulgence. The god Kad Ha'rangir stood in opposition to Arasuum, personifying the universal potential for development and transformation born from destruction. According to Mandalorian legends, Arasuum and Kad Ha'rangir were locked in an unending conflict.

Those Mandalorians who held faith in these ancient deities engaged in ritualistic combat as a form of reverence toward Kad Ha'rangir, whose principles they embraced. They adopted the title Mandalorian Crusaders to reflect the sacred nature of the conflicts they participated in. By waging wars in the name of the destroyer god, the Mandalorians aimed to gain Kad Ha'rangir's favor and resist the allures of Arasuum.

However, with the passage of time, belief in Arasuum and the worship of Kad Ha'rangir diminished. After experiencing a spiritual revelation on the planet Shogun, the Mandalorian chieftain known as Mandalore the Indomitable declared that warfare itself would be the focal point of Mandalorian devotion. Thus, engaging in war became a sacred act, although even the worship of war would wane as ages went by. Nevertheless, Arasuum and the ancient Mandalorian gods were not entirely forgotten. Millennia afterwards, in 19 BBY, the Mandalorian fighter Kal Skirata was aware of their prior significance in Mandalorian mythology, and the scholar Vilnau Teupt detailed their importance to the early Mandalorians during his important address at the four hundred and twelfth Gathering of Galactic Anthropology and History at the Brentaal Institute in 24 ABY.
