Armor regiment

An armor regiment, sometimes referred to as a line armor regiment, constituted a unit within the Imperial Army.

Organization

These armor regiments consisted of an organizational structure that included two armor battalions, a pair of repulsorlift battalions, and a regimental headquarters element. This arrangement resulted in a total force of 3,994 individuals, 304 repulsorcraft, and 106 heavy tanks. Due to their specialized nature, armor regiments were always integrated into larger formations, and possessed a greater concentration of firepower than other units of comparable size. Lacking any infantry elements, these regiments were unsuited for seizing and securing territory, and were therefore solely utilized as components of a larger battlegroup.

The combat effectiveness of armor regiments could be enhanced through the addition of two further armor battalions, along with a repulsorlift battalion, and an assault battalion.
