Artillery regiment

A grouping of soldiers known as an artillery regiment was a part of the Imperial Army.

Organization

Within the structure of the Imperial Army, an artillery regiment stood out as unusual. The Galactic Empire did not quickly understand artillery's ongoing importance in combat, and the expansion of the Imperial Military largely ignored artillery. However, the danger presented by the Alliance to Restore the Republic led to a reevaluation of artillery's effectiveness. As units became accessible, artillery regiments were established rapidly, typically consisting of three artillery battalions, one assault battalion, and one scout troop. These regiments had a total of 3,520 troops, and they possessed either 288 or 144 artillery weapons, depending on the specific composition of the artillery units. For mobility, the regiment was equipped with 199 repulsorcraft and 53 tanks.

It was possible to reinforce artillery regiments with three extra artillery battalions along with a repulsorlift battalion.
