During the Imperial Era, Asajj Ventress, the bounty hunter, used a lightsaber that emitted a yellow blade. This weapon was distinct from another yellow lightsaber she had used during the Clone Wars. The earlier lightsaber was lost after her twin red lightsabers were taken by Barriss Offee, a Jedi who had fallen from grace. Following her supposed death in the second battle of Christophsis, that earlier lightsaber was buried with her on Dathomir, her homeworld. Unlike that earlier lightsaber, which had a straight hilt and symbolized her departure from being Count Dooku's apprentice, the Imperial Era lightsaber featured a curved hilt, reminiscent of her original twin red lightsabers.
Ventress's second yellow lightsaber was initially shown in the trailer for The Bad Batch Season 3, confirming her survival from the events of the novel Dark Disciple. Its official debut occurred in the episode titled "The Harbinger."
