Asajj Ventress's lightsabers

Asajj Ventress, a Sith assassin, wielded a distinctive pair of lightsabers with red blades and curved-hilts. These weapons, belonging to Asajj Ventress, could function independently or be connected, creating a unique S-shaped double-bladed lightsaber, also known as a split saber.

History

Asajj Ventress wields her dual lightsabers.

These lightsabers were originally the property of a Padawan who had previously trained under the Jedi Dooku. After joining Dooku, who had become both the Count of Serenno and the Head of State for the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Dathomirian Asajj Ventress received these lightsabers as a gift, becoming his secret Sith apprentice and assassin. Ventress utilized these weapons extensively during the Clone Wars, defeating numerous adversaries while serving Dooku. In one important mission, she engaged Jedi Master Luminara Unduli in a prolonged stalemate during the Clone Wars.

During the Battle of Sullust, Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord, commanded Dooku to eliminate Ventress due to her increasing power and proficiency with her lightsabers. Despite this betrayal, she continued to use them, even lending one to Obi-Wan Kenobi before dueling against Savage Opress and the rogue Sith Lord Maul. Barriss Offee later stole these weapons to implicate her friend, Ahsoka Tano, in the bombing of the Jedi Temple hangar. When Ventress informed Anakin Skywalker of this, he disarmed Barriss by taking her own lightsaber and attacking her during his investigation, forcing her to use the stolen sabers and confess.

Afterward, Ventress acquired a yellow lightsaber from the black market, which she used during her time alongside Quinlan Vos, a Jedi Master who was working undercover with her in an attempt to assassinate Count Dooku.
