During the Clone Wars, a Tatooine-based bounty hunter syndicate known as Krayt's Claw emerged. This group was under the leadership of the young bounty hunter Boba Fett. The core membership of the syndicate typically comprised five to six hunters: Fett, Bossk, C-21 Highsinger, Aurra Sing, and Latts Razzi were consistent members. Other individuals such as Oked, Dengar, Asajj Ventress, and Embo participated less frequently for various reasons.
Within the timeframe of the Clone Wars, Asajj Ventress was approached by Oked, who attempted to flirt with her, resulting in his death. This occurred at a cantina located in Mos Eisley, where Bossk, and Latts Razzi were also present. Following the demise of their associate, Razzi and Bossk leveraged the situation to coerce Ventress into joining their team. Subsequently, the two bounty hunters introduced Ventress to their leader, the human male Boba Fett. Fett's team had been contracted by Major Rigosso to protect a chest containing unknown items during transport on a subtram headed towards Belugan leader Otua Blank.

As they were in the process of delivering the chest, the group strategically dispersed in anticipation of potential conflict. Razzi formed a partnership with C-21 Highsinger, while Dengar teamed up with Ventress, and Bossk accompanied Fett. The anticipated attackers materialized in the form of Kage Warriors. The group successfully repelled numerous Kage Warriors, matching their proficiency in martial arts. However, Razzi, Highsinger, Dengar, and Bossk were eventually overcome by either the Kage leader Krismo Sodi or the [Kage Warriors](/article/kage_warriors]. This left Ventress and Fett as the remaining defenders. During the confrontation with the raiders, Boba accidentally overturned the chest, revealing its contents: a young woman named Pluma Sodi, who had been abducted with the intention of forcing her into marriage with Otua Blank. The leader of the raiders, Krismo Sodi, was revealed to be her brother, who was attempting to rescue her. Ventress and Boba, both of whom remained on the tram, engaged in a debate regarding the situation after Pluma appealed to the former Sith apprentice. Ventress sympathized with the girl, having experienced a similar forced removal from her own home. Conversely, Boba remained committed to completing the mission. Ventress then employed the Force to choke Boba, thereby preventing him from fulfilling his objective. Following the conclusion of the mission, Ventress chose to separate from the group.
Jedi Master Quinlan Vos, tasked by the Jedi High Council with assassinating Separatist leader Count Dooku, sought out several members of Krayt's Claw at a bar within Coruscant's Level 1313. Vos's objective was to enlist Ventress, Dooku's former Sith apprentice and a bounty hunter, for the assassination mission. Through discussions with Fett and Latts Razzi, Vos discovered that Ventress was pursuing a Volpai fugitive named Moregi on Pantora.
Following the failure of their mission to assassinate Dooku, which resulted in Vos's capture, Ventress contacted Fett's syndicate at Chalmun's Cantina on Tatooine to request their assistance in a rescue operation. Initially, the syndicate hesitated to participate until Ventress agreed to an immediate payment of 250,000 credits. Several members, including Fett, Latts Razzi, Bossk, Highsinger, and Embo, participated in the rescue mission and journeyed to Serenno. While Krayt's Claw created a diversion by attacking several shuttles to distract Dooku's forces, Ventress attempted to rescue Vos, only to be rejected by the Jedi, who had learned of her murder of his former master Tholme. Despite successfully trapping Dooku under a net, the syndicate and Ventress were compelled to flee after Vos sided with Dooku and pursued them. As a consequence of the failed mission, relations between Krayt's Claw and Ventress soured, leading to their separation.
