Duel at the Jedi Temple

During the Clone Wars period, within the Jedi Temple located on Coruscant, Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, engaged in a lightsaber duel against the fallen Jedi Knight, Barriss Offee. This confrontation transpired after Skywalker discovered that Offee had wrongly accused his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, of perpetrating the bombing of the Jedi Temple hangar, an event that had occurred several days prior. Upon conversing with Asajj Ventress and learning about the ambush during the capture attempt, Skywalker concluded that Offee was the only individual capable of bombing the Jedi Temple. His suspicion proved correct when Offee attacked Skywalker, wielding Ventress' Sith lightsabers. Ultimately, Offee was defeated and brought before Tano's trial, where she admitted to bombing the Jedi Temple, asserting that the Jedi had become an army fighting for the dark side, and the Republic's downfall was imminent.

Prelude

Skywalker confronts Ventress about her part in the bombing.

Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi Padawan, found herself not only framed for, but also formally charged with, the bombing of the Jedi Temple hangar as well as the murder of Letta Turmond. Consequently, Tano made the decision to disappear into the underworld with the intention of independently establishing her innocence. However, she was eventually recaptured by Anakin Skywalker alongside Plo Koon. Tano was then returned to the Jedi Temple, where the Council expelled her and handed her over to the Republic Military. During her military tribunal held before the Galactic Senate, Skywalker ventured into the underworld and located Asajj Ventress, believing she was the orchestrator behind the recent events. Ventress maintained her innocence and revealed that someone else had ambushed her and stolen her lightsabers after she and Tano separated at the warehouse that housed the nano-droids employed in the bombing.

Barriss Offee, who had directed Ventress and Tano to the warehouse, was the only other individual aware of their visit. Skywalker went back to the Jedi Temple and discovered the Jedi in her living quarters. When questioned, Offee acknowledged communicating with Tano, but claimed she was simply trying to assist her. To confirm his suspicions, Skywalker attempted to strike Offee with her own lightsaber. Offee then produced Ventress' lightsabers, which she had concealed in a pot instead of discarding, to defend herself, thereby proving her involvement in the bombing and the framing of Tano. Skywalker then engaged Offee in a duel.

The Duel

Skywalker engages Offee on the temple training grounds.

Following the initiation of lightsaber combat with Offee, Skywalker forced her out of her room, prompting Offee to flee into the Temple corridors. Skywalker swiftly pursued her, and the duel continued. As she attempted to escape, four Jedi Temple Guards appeared, blocking Offee from both ends of the hallway. Seeking an alternative escape, Offee shattered the Temple's windows and jumped from the Temple. After Offee knocked Skywalker off a balcony, the duel extended to the training grounds, where Tera Sinube was instructing a group of Jedi younglings. Sinube activated his sabercane to protect the younglings and aid Skywalker. As the Temple Guards closed in, Skywalker managed to disarm Offee of one lightsaber by squeezing her right wrist. After another exchange of clashing blades, Skywalker utilized telekinesis to slam and pin her against a tree. Offee was then brought before the court during Tano's trial and compelled to confess to her crimes. During her confession, Offee condemned the Jedi, asserting that they had lost their way and were the true antagonists of the Clone Wars.

Aftermath

Following Offee's confession, the accusations against Tano were dismissed, and she was released from Republic custody. Plo Koon issued an apology on behalf of the council and invited Tano to rejoin the Order, but to everyone's surprise, she declined and departed from the Jedi Order.
