NM-K reconstitutor

NM-K reconstitutors, a form of nano-droid, found their primary application in the manufacture of electronic components. These incredibly small devices, measuring only 1.5 nanometers long, were virtually impossible to detect without specialized sensors. Typically, these droids were kept suspended in an electrolytic transfer fluid, and personnel would apply them to surfaces using either a swab or roller. However, if unlawfully reprogrammed, NM-K reconstitutors possessed the ability to rearrange carbon-based substances into extremely volatile arrangements, potentially triggering powerful explosions. Due to these hazardous possibilities, the use of nano-droids was tightly controlled by Galactic Republic legislation, restricting them to carefully supervised industrial environments.

Toward the end of the Clone Wars, Letta Turmond, manipulated by the Jedi Barriss Offee, administered nano-droids to her husband, Jackar Bowmani, who worked at the Jedi Temple. She then exploited him to orchestrate a bombing within the Temple's hangar. This act of terrorism resulted in the deaths of Bowmani and twenty-five others, caused injuries to numerous individuals, and led to substantial destruction of the hangar facility.

In 9 ABY, Helgait, who was the Head of Security on the planet Plazir-15, orchestrated a scheme by contaminating a supply of the droid lubricant Nepenthé with illegally obtained NM-K Reconstitutors. This contamination caused droids using the lubricant to be reprogrammed, leading them to exhibit aggressive behavior towards their human owners.
