Unidentified Padawan (Dooku)

A Padawan of the Jedi Order, a Force-sensitive woman during the Republic Era, was under the tutelage of Jedi Master Dooku for Jedi training. The Jedi apprentice eventually embraced the dark side of the Force, acquiring a pair of matching red lightsabers featuring a curved hilt. Later, she was eliminated due to being considered an "embarrassment." Following her demise, her lightsabers remained in Darth Tyranus's possession for a considerable time, until he gifted them to Asajj Ventress.

Behind the scenes

The first mention of this unidentified Padawan in current Star Wars canon occurred in the 2020 reference book "Lightsabers and Jedi Equipment," which is the ninth installment of the Star Wars Encyclopedia book series. Within the Star Wars Legends timeline, this Padawan's identity is Komari Vosa, initially appearing in Jango Fett: Open Seasons 3, the third issue of the Jango Fett: Open Seasons comic series, which was released on July 17, 2002, and subsequently featured in the 2002 video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.

Asajj Ventress received her lightsabers in Chapter 7 of the Star Wars Legends 2003 animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars.

In Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Dooku orchestrates a competition to hunt her down in order to setup a meeting with Jango Fett that takes place on Kohlma, a moon of Bogden, where Vosa's base was located. This meeting provides Dooku with the opportunity to assassinate Vosa and propose to Jango that he become the template for the Republic's Clone Army. In the canon continuity, Dooku organizes a similar competition, which also results in a similar conversation between him and Jango Fett on one of the Moons of Bogden.
