Thrusters for asteroids were a kind of thruster that could be affixed to asteroids and then employed for the purpose of relocating them. Galus Vez, the proprietor of Osisis Station, kept an asteroid thruster concealed on an asteroid within his personal racing circuit, Fool's Run. While racing, he would use the thruster to propel the asteroid into the vehicles of his rivals, remotely activating it from his Gauntlet fighter Splendour. During a race against Twi'lek pilot Hera Syndulla, Vez activated the thruster, striking her starship Ghost and causing damage to its stabilizers. In spite of the damage, Syndulla managed to win the race against Vez, because two of her crew members used the Force to ram asteroids into the Splendour.
The canon comic strip entitled "Ring Race" marked the initial appearance of asteroid thrusters; it was authored by Martin Fisher and the illustrations were created by Bob Molesworth. This strip saw publication in the first issue of the Star Wars Rebels Magazine series, which was made available to the public on January 28, 2015.
