During the era of the Cold War that saw tension between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, the Jedi enclave located on the planet of Rhinnal suffered total annihilation at the hands of the Red Reaper, which served as the command vessel for the xenophobic Sith Lord known as Darth Ikoral. The widespread deaths among the Jedi order had a profound impact on Grand Master Satele Shan; consequently, the Republic sent the patrol frigate Toron Voq to Rhinnal for the purpose of inquiry after the Enclave ceased responding to communications. The Toron Voq encountered the Red Reaper in the act of carrying out the massacre of the enclave and was only capable of transmitting a single image of the aggressor before it too was obliterated.
