Jedi chapter house (Rhinnal)

The Jedi chapter house, situated on the planet of Rhinnal, was a renowned academy positioned in close proximity to the settlement of Rhire. It gained significant recognition for its exceptional training of well-known Jedi healers.

History

This Jedi chapter house, found on the planet Rhinnal, was erected near the gray shores of the Frieste River during a time when the capital city of Rhire functioned merely as a supply base for those exploring hyperspace. The academy was a straightforward, spired building capable of housing nearly one hundred patients.

During the Cold War that occurred between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, the Sith warship known as the Red Reaper destroyed the enclave. The chapter house was ultimately rebuilt, and it focused its curriculum on instructing students in the skill of healing through the utilization of the Force. Expanded over the centuries, it saw continuous use, much like the academy located on H'ratth.

In 33 BBY, Jedi Knights Vel Ardox and Noro Zak escorted the injured Master Adi Gallia to Rhinnal so she could receive treatment following a particularly brutal confrontation during her mission to Esseles. While Zak and Ardox chose to remain at the facility, Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi opted to stay on Esseles in order to complete the mission that Gallia had been unable to finish. Communications on Rhinnal were disrupted by a storm, leading Jinn and Kenobi to fear the worst. Upon their arrival on Rhinnal, they discovered that everything was in order, and they informed their comrades that they had uncovered the key to their assignment on Esseles: Bartokk assassins had absconded with hyperdrive-equipped droid starfighters with the intention of attacking the Corulag Academy.

Following the Clone Wars, Rhinnal's good name was enough to save the academy from being razed by COMPNOR fanatics, an exception compared to many other Jedi chapter houses found throughout the Core Worlds. At the conclusion of the Clone Wars, although the academy was closed, it was not destroyed. The Galactic Empire purged it of all materials related to the Jedi, but the building was spared from destruction due to its function as a medcenter and its value to the local population. Darth Sidious made a notation about the Rhinnal chapter house in his stolen copy of The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force, pointing out that the book itself revealed such locations, which saved the Empire time during their hunt for Jedi.
