The Aurilia prison, a detention facility, existed within the secluded settlement of Aurilia located on Dathomir during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Aurilia sentinels served as its guards.

Following the battle of Aurilia and the subsequent rebuilding of the village, the Aurilia prison was constructed in 1 ABY. Mellichae, the Dark Jedi leading the Sith Shadows, was imprisoned there after his capture by Captain Sarguillo during that conflict.
At a later point in time, a confused Nightsister who had stumbled into the town was apprehended and confined within the prison after she launched an assault on Sarguillo and his forces.
Around the same timeframe, stormtroopers launched an attack on Aurilia, enabling Mellichae to break free from his imprisonment. Subsequently, a team of Rebel operatives arrived in the village, seeking a fragment of the Codex of Tython, an ancient Jedi Holocron possessed by Mellichae. Captain Sarguillo, unable to personally locate Mellichae, provided directions to the Dark Jedi's whereabouts. The agents eventually confronted Mellichae and his Sith Shadows, ultimately defeating them. They also successfully retrieved the Holocron fragment from the Dark Jedi. Following this encounter, Mellichae was once again placed back into custody at Aurilia.
The Aurilia prison made an appearance in the 2003 Star Wars Galaxies video game, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts, before its shutdown on December 15, 2011. The prison, along with the updated city of Aurilia, was incorporated into the game via the "Chapter 7" update on November 1, 2007.
