The Aurodium Sword represented a company of mercenaries that operated during the Clone Wars. This conflict, spanning from 22 BBY to 19 BBY, pitted the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Although a relatively new entity during the Clone Wars period, the company was secretly led by a defective clone Advanced Recon Commando from the Republic named Muzzle, and it primarily consisted of Wookiee warriors. Throughout the war, they favored taking on assignments that involved providing protection to Republic corporate figures, such as Raith Sienar, who served as the Chief Executive Officer of Sienar Fleet Systems.
The current Star Wars canon first mentioned the Aurodium Sword in Collapse of the Republic, a 2019 sourcebook for Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying game line. Conversely, within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Aurodium Sword debuted in an article titled "Underworld: A Galaxy of Scum and Villainy." This article was written collaboratively by Ryan Kaufman and Abel G. Peña, and it appeared in the eighty-ninth issue of Star Wars Insider magazine, published on August 9, 2006.
